I'm not even going to link to it because it's blatant crap and lies, but suffice it to say Microsoft is at it again. This time creating some odd "newspaper-like" webpage off of their site touting the benefits of Windows over linux...and not on the desktop but the Server!?!

Any geek worth his salt, (and has been exposed to and used linux, or any *nix for that matter) knows that a *nix box will dance circles around windows box when it comes to things like stability. Yet a supposed "quote" from some brainless Windows admin states the following:

With the Linux-based platform we would have a system crash at least one a week,” says Castillo. “Migrating to a Microsoft-based system has virtually eliminated server crashes and we have vendor support.”

A server crash...once a week?!? I have YET to see such a thing...not sure I've ever seen a *nix crash. Matter of fact the only time I've ever seen an issue was when we had some god-awful admin accidentally relocate the /lib folder and then rebooted the box.

On top of that, our hosting environment where I work has several machines that have been up and running strong over 700-days without a crash/reboot, etc. 700 days...700 Mr. Ballmer...

So don't let anyone tell you that Microsoft is a more stable server...not sure what kind of crystal-meth those marketing folks in Redmond are on, but its gotta be some expensive stuff in order to come up with blatant wildly false claims like this...

Let me lay it out for you...if you can avoid it at all, do not buy Microsoft products...they are over priced, bloated, unstable and sub-par pieces of software. If you can't get your head around linux at the moment, save up the cash and buy a Mac. Totally worth it, SIMPLE to use...and imagine this...useful too!

You've seen the Apple vs. PC commercials on TV by now...that is hype you CAN believe...not this crap from Microsoft...its disgusting.
