I was reminded today of just how deep my love affair with Ubuntu goes. We had a client in today and he brought with him RedHat EL version 4 to get installed on one of our machines. All I can say is, that if I paid the tab for RHEL, and its usability was THAT BAD, I would be forced to wonder why I wouldn't just buy windows to begin with??

Ubuntu, or any Debian based distro for that matter, makes installation of software packages so easy. Granted Fedora has Yum, but getting Yum to install on RHEL 4 wasn't as easy as it could/should have been.

The thing I like most about Ubuntu & Ubuntu server is that it is ABSOLUTELY FREE. Hell I'd even consider making a donation similar to the cost of RHEL 4 if I had that kind of cash lying around. Free buys me simplicity, and 3-grand or so apparently busy me more headache...what would YOU choose??
