I know it has been quite some time since I've put anything up, and its either because having the Hasselhoff post below scares me, or that I just haven't had the time. (I'm bettin' on the Hasselhoff, but lets just say I haven't had alot of time so nobody thinks I'm chicken sh*t).

Anyway, onto the info: My current company has moved me off the internal team and has started billing me out to other clients. It's not exactly what I want to do, and while there's this whole underlying plot to the thing, I'll spare you the details. Suffice it to say, while I'd rather NOT be doing this, at least I've wound up with a group of entertaining people who are doing some pretty "next level" stuff.

The problem is, I can't tell you what they're doing exactly due to a NDA between our two companies, but trust me, its "next level" all the way. At the VERY least, I'm learning which is part of what I'm apparently supposed to be doing "out here."

I've also been pulling some late nights working on an application for a friend of mine. The ultimate plan is to take what I've been writing, use his business as its testing bed/idea center and then resell the application to companies. If it all comes together well, we stand to make some pretty good dough. Meanwhile, I'm missing out on time with my wife, and that ever-so-precious thing we've all come to know as sleep!

Having said all that, I guess David Hasselhoff really doesn't scare me, and it truly is that I've just had no time.

Finally...I've been messing with my own little PHP code-generation framework lately and I have to admit...its doing its job well. There are plenty of places I can tweak and fix so it still really immature, but its alot like the Java framework that we wrote/use/used to use at work so my development time is much shorter than it used to be. I've used it to rewrite this site, start another, and am currently using it on the affore mentioned project that's I've been working on the past two weeks. I've been calling it PHPonRye to sort of poke fun at the whole RoR stuff, but unlike RoR...I'll probably be the only one ever using it since there are other frameworks out there with alot more adoption. The main reason I wrote this was so that I didn't have to have such a mind switch jumping between my Java and PHP projects...I'd say its been effective for me.

Now that you are all bored to tears...its time for me to get some sleep...at least a few hours.

P.S. The job search has begun, not in full swing yet, but the feelers are being placed...if anyone knows of anyting available, (the closer to the northwoods the better) feel free to drop my name.
