So Much To Do...Or Not Ryan on May 22, 2005 11:14am
This weekend was supposed to be a busy weekend of yard work and gardening. However, while I managed to mow the lawn and trim some shrubs yesterday, I still have yet to get the garden put in. Carrie and I will be traveling to the local all-purpose hardware store to purchase seeds, and seedlings to plant in the garden today. Looks like its gonna be a nice day after all, and I was expecting rain.

It\'s so nice in fact that I am enjoying one of my favorite past times whilst bringing this most interesting entry...well, maybe not *THAT* interesting, but I\'m trying ,really....anyway, I am sitting outside on our suburban patio, listening and watching the birds. And while I am TOTALLY aware that this somewhat makes me sound like a pansy, I try not to let that get to me and just totally enjoy being outside.

One must love wireless internet access. Being a geek and someone who loves the outside, it allows me to bring these to things together. And while my neighbors may look at me like I am weird or something, I\'ll continue to do so. That\'s why we have wireless, so geeks like me who are getting fat from sitting on their ass can at the very least, get fat while sitting on their ass outside!

Back to business though, so much to do both at home and for my moonlighting endeavour. However, our first website, while pretty much ready to go live is awaiting several more items of input from our customer and its putting us alot farther behind where we wanted to be. We need to have them this week or we\'ll miss the deadline that all of us wanted to hit. At least we know it won\'t be our fault, but still, it would be nice to be able to hit that goal.

Well we have a house finch on the feeder now and swallows zooming around overhead, so I guess I\'m just gonna sit back and enjoy it all...

Nope, not weird at all. I think it is a growing trend replacing reading the newspaper on the deck. I see many of my neighbors outside with laptops. There are two right now and one is an old lady. I have even seen two people on the same porch with laptops. Granted the way our back yard is set up, I can see about 12 back patios. I think this is generally the prefered way of doing it now. Of course that also adds to my problem of 6 access points I am picking up right now. 8 if I go outside.

To be so lucky to live in the world of wireless. Too bad I live in the sticks and am still lucky to have dial-up. Arrrgh. And to think my husband has wireless access at the truckstops and here I sit with dial-up - can\'t even get DSL or anything.
