I woke up this morning...earlier than usual...just so I could take one for the team. Its hard to get up for work when you know you are heading out to do something you never signed up for in the first place. It\'s even harder when you realize that nobody really knows what it is you\'ll be doing. The only descriptions you\'ve heard are: it\'s simple, its monkey work, and hey, you\'ll sorta be working with WebSphere and WebSphere portal.
The more descriptive people got, the less I understood, so needless to say, I\'m not exactly \"excited\" to go off to a client site. That being said, at least I\'ll have SOMETHING to do besides invest my time in an unproven and perhaps, fad development environment reserved only for those fanboi\'s code-monkeys who think they\'re above any other way of thinking...you know them...the \"academic programmers.\" One of which even hasn\'t used the technology and blindly assumes that the only other person screaming "Do it in Rails" has all his ducks in a row. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn\'t, but I think the morale around here is going right down the shitter pooper.
Anyway, here I am complaining and for all I know it actually will be something kind of neat...I seriously doubt it...but its only for two days and it IS something to do. It\'s just hard for me to swallow that we\'re so hard up for cash in our group that I have to take this assignment to bring in a whopping $1125 bucks. You don\'t have to be the head cashier at Wal Mart to figure out it ain\'t buyin\' a whole lot food for the kiddies and that kind of cash is a literal drop-in-the-bucket amount. Apparently you don\'t even need to be the head cashier to get this assignment either...
