Hurrican Charlie has just made landfall 7 or 8 miles from my brothers house in Port Charlotte, Florida. So he just called me to let me know that everybody is okay, so far.
He talked to my mother who lives, (I thinK) about 20-30 minutes away and told them to get outta town. Apparently neither of them, my brother or my mother, are leaving. They\'ve decided to sit and ride this one out.
While I am all for storm watching, when they say your town will be underwater, I don\'t think I\'d hesitate to head for the hills. I only hope that their instincts are correct and they need not go anywhere.
Naturally my sister and I are in a panic about this being pretty much land-locked...(the Great Lakes don\'t *really* count do they?)
Anyway, if they plan on staying, they better take some *DAMN* good pictures so I can post \'em. More importantly though, I hope that take cover, mother nature can be a biznitch!
