For once, I am not limiting the following rant to just one subject, but rather, many subjects. For starters:
  • End users...I thought I\'d given up dealing with end users when I finally left the CUNA helpdesk behind. Ask anyone on that team, they knew I hated it. Well, it appears I am still dealing with them, they just pass through a number of sources before they get to me, but yet somehow still manage to really tick me off. My favorite client, unfortunately, has to still deal with these folks directly and I feel so sorry for her. She\'s a great lady, and I got to meet her an her team last week. Why would anyone want to go a piss her off? After all, this is the lady that can help you...but I digress. Let me just say that if I ever came across some of these folks in \"the wild\" I can be damn sure my \"dumbass meter\" would into the red. Granted not everyone is *Web Savvy* but entering a few number and clicking a button CANNOT be that difficult! However, time and again, I get proven wrong. Furthermore, if you can\'t even freakin\' spell the state you live in, perhaps its time to move somplace with a shorter name, like O-H-I-O and stay away from places like W-I-S-C-O-N-S-I-N, or (w-i-s-c-I-s-U-n as one bright end user put it...) my life as a geek would be sooo much easier if AOL would just burn in AOHell.
  • Health Care providers...its such a sad state. I am sure that whenever someone enters into the medical profession, they have big dreams and big ideas to change the industry. What happens to that drive?!? I\'d love to see someone bring back the house-call. It\'s next to impossible to find someplace to give you good medical advice on a weekend. Instead we rely on describing a rash to someone over the phone...is that f*cked up or what? Sure it would drive costs through the roof, they\'re already so high, but holy shit, gimme some evidence that my money is going to do good things for me.
What happened to the doctors that seem to give a rip, or at least appear to be sincere? Those that are wind up being sooo booked, that you can\'t get in to see them anyway...this is just a sad state of affairs.
  • My glasses broke the other day...(because I am a klutz okay?!?)...and I found out now that they no longer offer frames in the color that I had. Now I have to use a different color without even knowing really what the hell its gonna look like. This is all my own fault, I understand, but I\'m just griping to grip.
In closing however, I realize that my life could be much worse. Apparently our neighbor to the rear of us has a terminally ill disease and I wake up every morning taking life forgranted. We have food on the table, two cars, a roof over our heads and a beautiful daughter, and all I do is complain. Things could be a hell of a lot worse and I need to remember that when the piddly shit hits the proverbial fan in small daily things, I need to put things in perspective. All that being said, its nice to be able to sit down and gripe about things even if nobody is paying attention.

Time to go, Everwood is on...
